PYRO_PRO WAVE
PHILIP KÖSTER PRO WAVE
Designed in collaboration with 5 x World Champion Philip Köster, the PYRO will ignite your fire.
The PYRO is a complete redesign. New shape. New bottom contours. New construction. Faster to plane. Sharper on the wave.
Volume distribution shifted forward gets you up and moving earlier. A wider tail section with thinner, refined rails increases bite and maneuverability. Foot straps repositioned further back put you over the tail; more leverage, tighter turns.
This combination of forward volume, wider tail, and rear strap positioning extends the effective range of every size. Sail a smaller board with earlier planing confidence, or step up a size and still rip on the wave. One board covers more of what the ocean throws at you.
The bottom shape progresses from Vee concave through flat concave into double concave for smoother rail-to-rail transitions, faster acceleration, and predictable grip through turns.
Aggressive aesthetics. PK performance. SV attention to detail.

PERFORMANCE GEOMETRY
The bottom shape progresses form Vee concave through flat concave into double concave; smoother rail-to-rail transitions, faster acceleration and predictable grip through turns.
More nose rocker than the previous generation improves wave entry. Lower tail kick keeps speed and drive out of tourns.
Volume sits further forward to get you planing earlier. A wider tail with thinner, refined rails adds bite when you put it on rail, and foot straps set further back put you over the tail; more leverage, tighter turns.
Ride it flat to go fast. Get ist on the rail to go vert.
TECHNOLOGY
CONSTRUCTION
SEVERNE Wave Construction: Biaxial Carbon, S-Glass, and E-Glass layup over an ultra-light 15.5 kg/m3 EPS core. High-grade PVC shell for an optimized strength-to-weight ratio, with localized reinforcements at heels, mast track, nose, and tail.
FORWARD VOLUME
Volume distribution shifted forward gets you up and moving earlier; faster early planing and increased stability.
COMPACT, WIDER OUTLINE
Complete new shape; a ground-up redesign of outline, rockerline, and rail profile. A compact, wider outline for efficient performance in real-world conditions.
REAR FOOT STRAPS
Foot straps repositioned further back put you over the tail; more leverage, tighter turns.
BOTTOM CONTOURS
The bottom shape progresses from Vee concave through flat concave into double concave; smoother rail-to-rail transitions, faster acceleration, and predictable grip through turns.
HEX-4 KEY
Fin setups change with the HEX-4 key; it comes with the board or lives in the foot of your SEVERNE sail, and the same key fits every SEVERNE component.
NYCA FINS
NYCA carbon fibre injection fins included. An injection-based technology using a specialised blend of thermoplastic polymer and carbon fibres; abrasion resistant, with the ideal rigidity for windsurfing performance.
5 SLOT BOXES
With 5 slot boxes, the PYRO is highly versatile and can be tuned to your preference and the conditions. Quad, Thruster, or Twin; NYCA fins included.
WIDER TAIL, THINNER RAILS
A wider tail section with thinner, refined rails increases bite and maneuverability on the wave.

The unique shape and the four fins generate maximum drive and acceleration, bringing an awesome production of speed, flow and power to your sailing in all wave & wind combinations.
Stable and extremely responsive, the Quads are most rewarding when driven off the rails for powerful yet smooth turns. The four-fin grip gives a very connected sensation to the wave yet they still have the ability to lose the tail when extended through the lip for a rotational move.
For 2015, subtle changes producing significant differences in performances have been introduced on three models in the range.
The Quad 79 and 84 have their Vee brought forward of the fins. This produces more precise rail-to-rail control in the bottom turn allowing for quicker trajectory changes as well as facilitating cutbacks as the board rolls off the Vee to set the forward rail.
More outline curve was added between the footstraps of the Quad 74 for quicker and tighter turns but also allowing the board to project more vertically up the face of the wave. - See more at: http://www.star-board-windsurfing.com/2015/products/boards/quad#overview
